Penfield Hope has grown as a ministry of St. Joseph's Church. When Pope Francis declared 2015 to be the Year of Mercy, St. Joseph's Parish Council and other leaders spent time that year learning how to encounter others and how to reach out in meaningful ways.
Aware of the Webster Hope House as a model of providing food and wraparound services to local people in need, St. Joseph's staff and volunteers reached out to learn more. Margery Morgan, Director of Webster Hope and others embraced the idea of Penfield Hope and helped us give birth to this new form of service for the Penfield community.
We are grateful to the endless support of the St. Joseph's community, to our pastor Fr. Jim Schwartz, and to Margery and all of the Webster Hope friends who continue to collaborate with us.
